January 20 11am - Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker Worship Associate:

Category: Sunday Services

On this Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday, we will learn more about the Poor People’s Campaign and Rev. Dr. William J. Barber. Creative community organizing is evolving into a movement that is deep and wide in its connections and issues. New tools and techniques are part of cultivating leadership to enhance democratic process. In December, hundreds of people from across California and the country risked arrest at the San Diego border. They included Fight for $15 workers, undocumented immigrants, people impacted by the California wildfires, and leaders from the American Friends Service Committee, Kairos Center, Repairers of the Breach, and the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival leaders from California to Maine to North Carolina, New York, and Massachusetts. They were interfaith leaders of all faiths who marched, sang, prayed, and engaged in nonviolent action together. • Green Sanctuary Committee Meeting in the Parlor, 12:30 p.m.
